The news hit today that Brett Favre retired. March 4th will be a sad day in Packer history. We all knew it was coming eventually, but like death, we didn't dwell on it.... and when it comes we mourn the loss and try to look ahead. Favre has done so much for the Green Bay Packer franchise that he doesn't owe us another year, but we sure would have liked it. With Favre there was eternal optimism, the hope of victory and the joy of competition. He brought a "no fear" attitude to Packer football after decades of mediocrity. Thanks for the memories.
