I just read the early power ranking for the NFL by Peter King for SI. The Green Bay Packers were ranked #1! I love to daydream too, but that seems like it is too good to be true. I know what my dad would have said if he were around. He would say, they shouldn't have written that because now there will be too much pressure on the team, and they won't be able to sneak up on anyone. And they won't be able to live up to the hype.

The Draft.
Though I wasn't actually at Lambeau for this year's NFL draft, I was here through the computer. I was able to be in the press room via live feed like one of the reporters. The world is amazing, the computer technology is amazing, now let's hope Ted Thompson's draft is amazing. It wasn't too exciting. A big lineman or two, some defensive linemen, a tight end. Yawn. Hopefully they can play. Maybe that running back can play....

Happy Birthday to a fan!
Today, 28 years ago a serious and life long Packer fan was born in Mankato, Minnesota. In his early years, he planned on being a wide receiver for his favorite team. He has attended games since 1990 and the Robert Brooks football camp back in the day.Recently he has been on the field, working on a TV production team for a game and has done video work for Packer receiver Greg Jennings.
Happy Birthday Jeff.

Root for Favre
Impossible as it is to root for the Purple, I think it is right to root for Brett Favre. When a 40 year old athlete performs at the highest level of his career and can sing a bad American Idol song after a big win against Dallas, you have to like him. He gave too much to the Green Bay Packers to turn on him now. He is like a family member who doesn't go to the same church. He is still a family member. Just don't talk about him going into the Hall of Fame as a Viking. Any self respecting Packer fan will grit their teeth and clench their fists.

A Brief Look at 2009.
In my opinion, the 09 Packers did better than expected. Rodgers had an outstanding year especially given the rough start with the sacks. I think the Packer faithful were pretty satisfied.Should they have beaten the Cardinals in the playoffs? Sure, but you have to be able to stop them on defense more than once. The Packers had several memorable games. Shades of Lynn Dickey and Lofton. The Pittsburgh game and the Cardinal playoff were a joy to watch, even in defeat. The Dallas and Ravens games showed that they had some grit and toughness.
There is a lot to look forward to in the off season. Let's hope TT gets some line help and a few more cornerbacks. I guess we will see.
